Description
One the most narrow of the tall-growing Junipers, you can add an exclamation point to your landscape with the Skyrocket Juniper, a fast growing North American native conifer that naturally grows in an upright, narrow, columnar form to 25 to 30 feet tall and only 6 feet wide over time. Excellent for a tall privacy screen where space is limited. Attractive and handsome silvery-blue foliage stays true-to-color year round. Also nice for topiary, such as the cactus shape pictured above.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 25 to 30 feet tall by 6 to 8 feet wide at maturity, the Skyrocket Juniper is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings, or in straight or staggered rows to form a quick privacy screen. Also effective to frame corners of tall homes and other structures, or fill space between windows. A fine addition to conifer gardens, Asian theme gardens, rock gardens, bird gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs).
Spacing:Â 4 feet for solid hedges and privacy screens;Â 6 feet or more for space between plants
Growing Preferences
Skyrocket Juniper is easy to grow in most any moist to dry well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun to light shade. We suggest at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for best foliage density. High drought tolerance when established. No pruning is necessary to maintain its columnar form.
