Description
With a glamorous and dazzling succession of color changes throughout the year that will light up the landscape, ‘Chameleon’ Little Bluestem is a superstar of a low-maintenance and easy-to-grow North American native grass anyone can grow. It features young spring leaves that are variegated a showy white and green. As summer approaches the leaves begin to develop attractive shades of purple, red and pink that intensify as the season progresses well into fall. In late summer, rising above the colorful foliage are contrasting burgundy-red flowers that open to fluffy, silver seed heads. At 3 to 4 feet tall and half as wide, Chameleon is a colorful accent in smaller garden spaces and containers, or grouping in larger spaces. Just provide 6 hours or more of sun per day and well-draining soil, including dry, clay, gravel or sandy soils. Tolerant of drought, alkalinity, heat and humidity, Chameleon Little Bluestem is beautiful ornamental grass plant that will grow almost anywhere in the country! USDA Zones 3-9
